After a long break due to Corona and the flood disaster, the Cologne Classical Ensemble finally invites you to the great New Year's Eve concert in the Rheinbach Council Hall. The Astor Trio with Alexander Prushinskiy (violin), Lena Kravets (violoncello) and Tobias Kassung (guitar) will play. A festive start to the new year with wonderful, rousing classical music. The programme spans a broad spectrum with festive baroque music by Johann Sebastian Bach and Georg Friedrich Händel, rousing tango compositions by Astor Piazzolla and Tobias Kassung, famous Broadway melodies from George Gershwin's "Porgy & Bess" and virtuoso Spanish sounds.
The three musicians of the Astor Trio have succeeded in the rare feat of establishing a completely new and unusual chamber music instrumentation in classical music, thus delighting audiences and critics alike. The Astor Trio brings together violin, guitar and double bass or violoncello. Alexander Prushinskiy, violinist and first concertmaster of the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra, has joined forces with guitarist Tobias Kassung and the solo bassist of the WDR Symphony Orchestra Stanislav Anischenko and solo cellist Lena Kravets to form this rare combination.
With these extraordinary programmes, the Astor Trio playfully combines styles between classical, jazz and world music, thus opening up new horizons for classical music.
