The Seasons: Vivaldi, Piazzolla & Cage
We celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Cologne Classical Ensemble with a special programme. Together with the outstanding violin virtuosos Alexander Prushinskiy and Arsenis Selalmazidis, we take a look back at the early repertoire of our ensemble.
The young ensemble's own arrangements of "Las Estaciones Porteñas" by Astor Piazzolla were a great success. As then, we combine these seasons from Argentina with the famous "Four Seasons" by Antonio Vivaldi and combine both with "Quietly Flowing Along" from the seasonal cycle by John Cage (Quartet in Four Parts). A deliberate break from the typical seasonal cycle in times of climate change and its challenges for us.
The big anniversary concert on 4 February 2023 is also the opening concert of the new 2023 programme. Once again, the audience can expect a top-class and exciting programme with outstanding ensembles from NRW.
