With their programme ‘Summer Night Music’, the seven-piece Cologne Classical Ensemble will be performing at the Classic Nights in the beautiful Brauweiler Abbey near Cologne. Baroque, classical and romantic solo concertos by Vivaldi, Boccherini and Tchaikovsky are combined with virtuoso Spanish music by Pablo de Sarasate, Isaac Albéniz and the artistic tango works of Astor Piazzolla.
In the unique atmosphere of the former monastery's inner courtyard, soloists Alexander Prushinskiy (violin), Lena Kravets (cello) and Tobias Kassung (guitar) showcase their instruments with great virtuosity. A treat for connoisseurs and a great experience for those who may not often attend classical concerts.
In 2003, eight students at the Cologne University of Music founded the Cologne Classical Ensemble. Today – 20 years later – this ensemble has developed into one of the leading collectives for classical chamber music in North Rhine-Westphalia.
