With 40 concerts in numerous towns across the Hellweg cultural region over 90 days, the 12th ‘Celloherbst am Hellweg’ is not only the largest music festival in the eastern Ruhr region, but also one of the most diverse cello festivals in the world. The Haus Siekmann Friends’ Association is once again contributing to this year’s festival with an exceptional concert:
Lena Kravets and Tobias Kassung present their programme ‘Nachtstücke – zwischen Traum und Tango’ (Night Pieces – between Dream and Tango). Romantic nocturnes and adagios by Burgmüller, Glinka and Beethoven perfectly capture the intimate, dreamy sound of the cello and guitar. Kassung’s own new piece adds a fresh dimension to the ‘dream’: the dream of peace, which is so very topical at the moment. Spanning three musical scenes, Kassung’s work transports the listener into the world of Arabic music, full of colour, power, hope and longing. Raffaele Bellafronte’s tango brings this exuberant way of life to life. And it culminates in the ‘Quatre rêves’ by the Parisian composer Mathias Duplessy, who has set the effervescent nightlife of the French metropolis to rousing music in his four musical dreams. Music that captivates, moves and is simply a joy to listen to!
