Programme at Humboldt hall 2026

Our series will take place in 2026 with five chamber concerts in the Humboldt Hall. Following the Morgenstern Trio and the Kravets-Kassung Duo in the first half of the year, concerts with the Arisva String Quartet, the Arundos Wind Quintet, and the Kassung & Marziali Guitar Duo will take place in September, October, and November. We will announce the exact dates after the summer break.

kammerkonzerte.koeln: Arundos Quintett

Humboldt-Saal, Kammermusiksaal im Humboldtgymnasium, Kartäuserwall 40, 50676 Köln

Bizet, Danzi, Schifrin & Debussy

Four years ago, the Arundos Quintet had already appeared once before at the kammerkonzerten.koeln – back then, in the Kunstverein’s concert hall. The concert had thoroughly delighted the audience, and in the years that followed, the quintet gave magnificent performances at the Cologne Philharmonie, the WDR Funkhaus in Cologne and the Beethovenhaus in Bonn, at the Rheingau Music Festival and many other prominent venues.

We are delighted to welcome the wind quintet back to our series this year, this time in the superb acoustics of the Humboldt Chamber Music Hall.
The internationally-based Arundos Quintet has found its artistic home in North Rhine-Westphalia, where it was awarded a three-year state grant for ensembles in 2020. Their debut CD, *Origin*, was supported by a grant from the Kunststiftung NRW and received enthusiastic reviews in the specialist press as well as from Deutschlandfunk, Deutschlandfunk Kultur and rbb Berlin. With "Saga", the ensemble – once again supported by the Kunststiftung NRW – now presents its second CD release.
The Arundos Quintet is just as committed to broadening musical horizons as it is to creating varied, thoughtfully curated programmes that span different eras and styles – and, last but not least, to engaging with the audience through their own personal concert introductions. The audience in Cologne can therefore look forward to a captivating combination of different eras and styles. Alongside works by Bizet, Danzi, Schifrin and Debussy, the programme will feature the new quintet by Kevin Beavers. This work, by the Düsseldorf-based American composer, was premiered by the Arundos Quintet in Bonn.
