Ravel, Bernstein & Albright
At the end of the Chamber Concerts 2022, we celebrated a special premiere under #Startschuss@Koeln: the celebrated Fukio Saxophone Quartet presented an extraordinary programme together with the internationally established pianist Inna Firsova, who lives in Cologne.
In the first half, Inna Firsova played two solo pieces by Ravel and Kapustin and the Fukio Quartet played two works by William Albright and Guillermo Lago. The perfection and musicality was impressive. Then in the second half they all played together in a quintet and delivered a truly exhilarating concert of works by Iturralde, Ravel and Bernstein. A standing ovation for a great concert and a great end to the year.
The concert was sold out with almost 100 listeners and was a complete success. A concert in a class of its own!
