Viola
Born in Atlanta, USA, violist Erin Kirby works in outstanding ensembles such as the Alinde Quartet, the VERITÀ Baroque Ensemble and the Takeover! ensemble. She performs regularly as a chamber musician internationally and in Germany's most prestigious venues, such as the Berlin Philharmonie, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Elbphilharmonie and the Alte Oper.
She has performed with artists such as the Schumann Quartet, Tessa Lark, Julio Elizalde, Hubert Buchberger and Isang Enders. She was a member of the Folkwang Chamber Orchestra Essen for several seasons. She has been invited to represent her country and conservatoire at the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition, UK, and the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Competition, Berlin. After her early studies in Atlanta with Marilyn Seelman, Erin Kirby studied with Prof. Carol Rodland at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, followed by studies with Prof. Paul Hersh at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She completed her Master's with Prof. Roland Glassl at the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main.
