The magic of the guitar
For eleven years now, the “Magic of the Guitar” event has been taking place around St. Nicholas in Hall 32. Luciano Marziali has been involved in the “Magic of the Guitar” project from the very beginning, both as an artist and as artistic director. The master guitarist from Italy has been delighting audiences for many years with his extraordinary and entertaining programs at the highest level.
This time, he will present musical compositional forms based on works by Vincenzo Galilei, Leonardo da Vinci, Leo Brouwer and Chick Corea, among others. Luciano Marziali will be joined by jazz guitarist Tobias Hoffmann. He is an ECHO Jazz and WDR Jazz award winner and teaches as a professor for jazz & pop guitar at the Trossingen University of Music. His solo program consists of interpretations of well-known songs from jazz, blues and pop, mixed with compositions from his own pen. He takes you into a mysterious world of sound that unites the past and future of these styles. His guitar playing sounds like looking through a kaleidoscope at the history of the electric guitar.
