Lena Kravets and Tobias Kassung present their programme ‘La lumière du sud - the light of the south’ in the ‘Reihe 8’ concerts at the Christuskirche in Dormagen. Under the artistic direction of Cantor Georg Wendt, a wide variety of concerts take place here on the 8th of every month and delight the audience.
The programme "La lumière du sud - the light of the south" is primarily dedicated to the masters of French music. The vastness of the French coast, the high, blue sky and the special light have always inspired French artists to create special works of art. In music, too, lightness merges with southern flair and the French way of life. Great impressionists such as Claude Debussy and Gabriel Fauré meet the baroque master Marin Marais and the contemporary Parisian composer Mathias Duplessy, who marvellously combines French lightness with flamenco and Brazilian bossa nova. The programme is rounded off by the piece "Capriccio à la lumière du sud", written by Tobias Kassung himself - a homage to the tango and the light of the south.
